I'm a fairly consistent Ainge supporter, but this -- and the
associated rumblings that we don't have an advance Pro Scouting
departement do worry me a little bit.
I think you still do the Davis trade (though i think Ainge
underestimated how important Eric Williams was to this team in the
lockeroom and on the court). And maybe once you've used teh Davis
deal to upgrade your talent and he's worn thin you do the Wally deal
just to rid us of Ricky.
But that was my fear of Wally to begin with ... he's one of those
guys who might be nice, but who is grating on the nerves (don't know
if I'd go so far as calling him a cancer, but certainly not the
easiest teammate to coexist with). He didn't do much on the court to
counteract me feeling that way about him. He seems almost like A
Bill Laimbeer type -- but on your own team.
I'm glad Wally is gone, i never thought he was that great a fit for
this team. Allen just feels like a much better fit. I'm excited to
see what #20 does in green!
