Can anybody w/ ESPN Insider access post Holinger's
"secret" analysis of the Warriors-Pacers trade? I am
trying for the life of me to figure out why Bird
thinks this is a good deal for his team.

Imagine being Don Nelson and Chris Mullin today: you
get a player who you went hard after during the
off-season, for a lot less than you were originally
planning to pay him, AND you do it by getting rid of
two overpaid stiffs (three if you count Diogu) who
were absolutely not going to thrive under Nellie. As a
bonus, you get an immediate replacement at guard
(Jackson) while Richardson is out hurt, and you get a
decent young prospect in Saras.

Very hard for me to see how Murphy coexists with
O'Neal on the Pacers front line, or how Dunleavy
provides a consistent perimeter threat to open things
up. Bird must think he or Granger can start at the two
...
