I'm surprised how depressed I am about Tony Allen. I was ready to
Gillooly the guy earlier this season. Now I feel like we just lost the
best two-way player on the team and someone who was maturing into a real
factor (never mind a trade asset -- or someone who made Gerald a trade
asset). Now I wonder if he'll ever be the same. You're right, Steve,
that guys come back from knee injuries these days, but Allen relies so
much on his athleticism that it is bound to make a difference.
Tank for Oden. Keep Pierce out. Play Wally enough to find a taker, then
play the upside kids (NO ALLAN RAY) until they drop. That means Green,
Rondo and Jefferson. And, while we're at it, let's re-introduce our
point guards to Al Jefferson.
This season sucks.

as someone who hadn't ever given up on tony allen,
even at his most boneheadedness early in the year, how
sad it is to see him go down like that, probably for
the season. he was quickly becoming the heart and soul
of the new celts. what a bummer. that said, he'll be
back. an acl is no more than a badly sprained ankle in
terms of an athlete's ability to bounce back. we'll
see him by xmas next year. remember how good he was
playing these last few weeks when he comes back and
looks brutal while he gets into his groove. he's not a
kid to give up on.
i'm excited to see who steps up next. i don't have a
clue. i'm guessing west and jefferson, hoping for
green, gomes and rondo.
still think the future is bright. these kids are
getting the time they need to figure things out. we
may go 0-fer the rest of the season, but like late
last season, we're getting our kids valuable court
time that will pay off in seasons to come.
