l. It bothers me when guards take rebounds away from bigs. The big man grunts for position, bears the bruises of constant banging and deserves the bunnies without having some guard swoop in and snatch the ball. Thus, my earlier pique when West knocked the ball away and gave the Cavs the winning bucket. Exuberance is great, but zeal without knowledge ain't what we want. Court knowledge demands that you defer to the guy who has the ball in his hands. Dumb play.
2. It bothers me when coaches draw up plays for shooters who are in a 30% streak and are already 1 of 4 at three-pointers for the night. Why give the last shot to Wally? Why? Well, because he's Wally, that's why. There's no basketball reason for such an idea. West is probably our best clutch shooter and Green hits about 50% of his threes. There's two good choices. But the shot was drawn up for Wally; that's what he said.
I'm ticked because these guys deserved to win that game and they weren't given a good chance at the end. Instead, Doc talked about Green not pressuring LeBron at 80 feet; get real.
Great effort and some good development, although I would rather not see Doc's end-of-game smile. Cheers, Gene
