Danny's commentating

Thanks. I was thinking, after I replied to you, how touchy it must be for them to have Danny there. If you confront him, "Gee, Danny, the Telfair trade doesn't look very good, does it?" you risk alienating him, in which case he'll never again sit in at a game, and may be reluctant to do ANY interviews. On the other hand, if you lob him softballs ("these kids have lots of heart, don't they?"), what does that do for anyone? A lot of his comments were very play-specific: "He needs to take that shot... he should have cut to the basket..." etc. Even a question like, "Is this team progressing as fast as you had hoped?" might piss him off. (Sorry, should I have said p---?") Also, he was with Gorman and Dickerson. I wonder if Tommy might have been a bit tougher on him.

That was great, Douglas, thanks.
I find it interesting how Doc cited defensive reasons
for demoting Telfair, yet Danny comes around and picks
up on the offensive things that Sebastian needs to
work on. Interesting.
The same difference of opinion, or long term vs. short
term perspective, applies to some of the recent quotes
by Danny and Doc regarding G. Green. Danny thinks
he's right on schedule, or a little ahead, while Doc
thinks he hasn't been playing very well recently. A
little good cop bad cop action for the dynamic duo of
Danny and Doc? Who knows, but I always end up
agreeing with what Danny says...
