I Tivoed the second half just to hear Ainge. It's tough for someone in his position to do TV because what we are asking as fans is for opinions and truth, and while Danny certainly has them, he can't really give them. You know that whatever ciriticsm he has offered on the air has been stressed off the air as well. With that caveat, I thought he had some good stuff to say. I assume he knows that Scal can use csome compliments, and I assume that the criticisms of Gomes and Allen are no secret to those players.
And if Gorman wants to leave the door open to another visit by Danny, he'd better not confront him on the Telfair/Roy deal. (He did offer some criticism of Telfair - he should be shooting more from midrange, IIRC>)

Subject: Danny's commentating
Thought it was interesting how neither the announcers or Ainge(2nd half
color commentator), would directly comment on Brandon Roy vs Sebastian's
production/future.
Talking about that trade would have embarrassed Danny, since Roy was
lighting us up. Danny even downplayed Brandon's talent saying something
like "he's a pretty good college player who doesn't hit jumpshots".
Ainge was also kind of sneaky on how he commented on his own players.
For the struggling mistake prone Telfair/Scal he constantly gave
compliments & reached for any little things they did right. Yet he was
comfortable giving a criticism for Ryan/Tony who had monster games.
Kudo's to Tony for hitting some jumpers and outplaying good swingmen
(including Carmello) this year. Ainge said Rivers was the ONLY one of
the Celtic brass that stood by Tony when he was stinking it up at the
beginning of the year. I think Doc's had a man-crush on TA since
college because they're both 6'4" physical guards from Chi, that
specialize in D & driving the lane.
