I understand what you're saying, but the problem with that all too 
common approach when looking at any player with a pulse (not that 
your standards are usually that low, but you're not the only one who 
looks at things that way) is pet peeve number 2 about guy shoe 
shopping aka player acquisition discussions (#1 is of course ignoring 
the fact that there is a salary cap - the top few peeves collectively 
come under the category of requiring an alternate universe).  There 
are a limited number of roster spots and a lot of needs and wasting a 
roster spot on someone who on a good day might be a poor man's Vitaly 
means you can't use it for something a hell of a lot more 
constructive, whether in terms of helping us now or future potential.

While back to the bruiser concept in general. Haven't we been whining 
all season about where's the fast break and running we've been 
promised? Well loading up on bruisers (which does not equate with 
effective players or defenders - see Vitamin P himself) ain't going 
to help that or fit well on the court with guys like Gerald and Rondo.
