That was a nice story Goody.
In Larry's book as coach of the Pacers, he said:
"The best player I ever played with was Dennis Johnson".
I was shocked when I read it wasn't Kevin.
Just shows how much Bird valued his crunchtime play. Besides the
kickout short J's, I appreciated how he looked out of shape, but was the
only Celt that could break down guys like Cooper/Scott off the dribble &
finish tough layups/floaters, when the C's ran out of options.

I'd say we were there about tem minutes and up
comes DJ into the stands about halfway up to talk
to the kid and sign the book on is picture. I'll never
forget that because the little tyke just was grinning
all over. RIP DJ.
