Question to list who are the best players out there regardless of
position and country that will be avail to the C's if we dont get the
top two players in this draft that we may get excited about and that are
ready for primetime.
---------------------------------
According to draft websites, the probable picks after Oden/Durant , if
they come out, are:
Brandan Wright - 6'10" gifted inside/midrange scorer, good shotblocker
Joakim Noah - 6'11" hustler, competitor, great shotblocker
Julian Wright - 6'8" hard working point forward, good defender.
>From what I've seen of all of them, a better draftpick, would be
Corey Brewer - Florida's 6'8" , Josh Howard(Allstar) clone.
I think after the 1st 2 picks, he's the Best-Player-Available in terms
of star potential, AND ALSO the Best-Player-Fit for the C's. He's the
type of teamate Paul, then later Gerald, will need for their whole
career, because even average swingmen like Kevin Martin/Raja Bell, just
dropped 20 on the C's defenders, two nights in a row.
-Brewer is 6'8" with a Rajon Rondo build (wiry tough), and that same
freak footspeed/handspeed/desire on D. I've seen him lock down PG's &
beat them to loose balls. He's a great great athlete, while
Durant/Julian with similar builds are just good athletes.
-Has a quick release, confident jumpshot off screens & kickouts(.368
3pt% for his career).
-Most important, he's an older, ready-to-contribute player, who plays
within the halfcourt offense (like the Raptor Euro's), and brings
toughness/intangibles like a Shane Battier. Teamates said no college
player outworks him (apparently as a boy he used to get up before dawn
to work long days in tobacco fields with his farmer father).
Critics say his downsides are he doesn't handle the ball well, create
for himself/others, or get big offensive numbers with that championship
team. But it looks to me like he has a quicker, lower, more controlled
dribble-drive than Gerald/Tony, and is a goto shotmaker/driveNdish guy
for his coach .
Fyi, Florida plays LSU (who's also full of NBA prospects), this Saturday
on CBS if anyone wants to decide for themselves.
