Peter May gave the odds in this Sunday's Globe: a 25% of the Celtics getting the #1 pick, and less than 50% of them getting the #1 or #2 pick.  And that's, I assume, only if they have the worst record.

One chance out of four of getting Oden?  Those are awful odds!

Folks seem to be projecting Durant as having a Kevin Garnett ceiling.  That's a *very* good player, but not enough to make the Celtics a championship contender (I think) over the next several years.

In any case, the odds are we won't get *either* #1 or #2, just like last time we had the worst record in the league.  People still talk about our "bad luck" that year -- they're just showing their ignorance of statistics.

No, I don't have a brilliant plan to save the Cs.  But I know depending on the lottery is a bad one.
