Exactly. Big Al didn't begin to gel until all our other bigs got hurt and he learned to play without his appendix. Allen went from a waste of roster space to all-star calibre a fourth of the way through the season (then knocked himself out for the year) and Delonte was hurt, played mostly lousy and was unfairly benched for Telfair before his recent stay in street clothes brought him back more or less to last year's level of play.
Even with the roster's return to nearly reasonable health, the C's are still without 2 of their six best players -- including No. 1 -- and another (Wally) is far from 100 percent. Fine, the great teams can overcome that, like the, um, Heat have done, so the Celtics aren't great. But they aren't bad ... not really.
