Kobe

On the broadcast last night, the announcers mentioned that the Celtics have lost 135 player/games to injuries this year.  That's pretty dramatic.  Think of the entire squad - all 15 of them - missing nine straight games.
 
I read the story about the cheers for Kobe and am severely conflicted.  On the one hand, the guy is a tremendous talent, and it speaks well of Boston fans to appreciate that fact.  Remember that Barkley insisted on traveling to Boston the day after his career-ending injury just because it was Boston, and the Philly-Boston games meant so much to him?
 
On the other hand, Kobe is a Laker and not a very nice person.
 
Bottom line?  I chalk the cheers up to the "branding" of the NBA and the fact that the league pushes "star power,"  so those cheering for Kobe were brainless sheep, devouring the flavor of the month foisted on them, complete with dancers.

Perk, Al, etc. didn't all get hurt, we wouldn't be questioning Ainge at all. You
