For long stretches of the game, the Celtics were not executing their
offense. What saved the game was, with the exception of that stretch
in the third quarter, how well they played defense, especially in the
second quarter. Had they continued that defensive effort
consistently in the third, this game would have been over by the
fourth quarter. The credit for that HAS to go to the guy who has
somehow managed to instill a killer defensive attitude in the Good
Guys. What the C's need, almost as badly as a backup PG, is simply
to play more consistently. Their offense has been sputtering
unexpectedly, which is a bad sign, considering how early reviews
portrayed the C's as an offensive juggernaut. They NEED this defense
to be played consistently.
