"Kevin McHale's mindless stupidity"

Mr. May,

I'm not reacting because McHale was my favorite of his era, but because you "mindlessly", it appears, threw out a rather "stupid" comment about Kevin McHale. It's not that you demeaned a Celtic great, but that you crassly miscast the facts in a needless rave for GM Ainge.

To be sure, Al Jefferson will not bring a championship to Minnesota in the next few years; Garnett may do so for Boston. But to suggest McHale made a "stupid" trade is "mindless." You might want to explain your remark. McHale got the best low post youngster in the league, not to mention a couple of #1s. McHale had no chance to surround Garnett with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, much less Rajon Rondo. McHale struck when he had to and came up with one of the best young players in the league. Explain how that was "mindless" and "stupid."
Would it have been "mindless and stupid" for "Ainge to have traded Pierce for Dwight Howard a year ago?

Your turn.

Cheers, Gene Kirkpatrick

PS: I've copied this note to the most cerebral Celtics' list on the planet. You could do worse than turn to our group for informed BB talk.
