Not that I've read, although that doesn't make it impossible. But did
they even retire numbers back then?
But I think the problem is you're starting from an assumption he had
to be talked into it. Look, Ed WANTED the trade. at least to the
point of being happy about it even if he didn't necessarily instigate
it.. He was from the St Louis area and his wife (I think it was his
wife, could have been one of his kids) was very ill. He was happy to
go back and didn't need to be convinced
