Ryan's points are valid.  That said, it is much easier to build a
championship team around Garnett, Allen and Pierce than it would have been
prior to the Allen and Garnett trades.  Now it comes down to the owners and
their willingness to step up and spend the money to add the right pieces
rather than finding the talent that could form the basis of a championship
team (which is as we know is quite a bit more difficult).

Since the Celtics are already in luxury tax territory, might as well go for
it all.  Time to add a Webber and/or  Mutombo and a sharp shooter off the
bench. Then pummel the entire league come November. Garnett's marketing
prowess and ticket selling ability should make up for some of the cash
outlay related to the luxury tax the Celtics will have to pay.  

This team is extremely close to a championship and over the next three or
four years, if Ainge and ownership are willing to take the hit in the
wallet, they should be able to get it done.
