Mark Murphy IIRC is who wrote the story on the Herald site reprinted 
on the CBlog.

I'd guess it's a partial contract ($150-200k) that's guaranteed if he 
makes the team, 2nd year team option (i think that was the deal we 
gave Orien Greene, IIRC).

I wonder if Ainge is doing it to make vets think "shoot, i better 
hurry and sign there before he fills out that team..."
