I would consider moving #3 for Gasol.
If we keep the pick I would take Noah at 3. He needs to beef up, but I like his hustle. Horford and Al seem like similar players. Brewer or Brandon Wright would be my next choice

First, I think there is a drop off after Oden and Durant. Of the two, Oden might not live up to his potential (who knows) but he's no Kandiman, for sure. I think Durant is the best bet to be a big time star. But, could Horford, as a quality PF, step in and contribute quickly, adding more to certain teams than Durant? Could be, but there's usually one like him every year. The same could be said for Brandon Wright of UNC. He's very intriguing and could be a great one in about three years, maybe sooner since he developed a bunch in his freshman year. Bottom line: Oden and Durant are in a class separate from the others. (All this is one old man's opinion).
But who would trade a quality vet for a consolation prize? Would some team lust after one of those or Brewer or Jianlian or ?? and give us a starter quality player? It would certainly have to be a multiple player deal; but then, we have multiple players plus Ratliff to offer.
I am one who does not worry about Ainge's summer deals. He's made a few that bother me, but I don't believe for a second that he would trade Jefferson or even Rondo. Those are two 12 year starters, more important than Pierce in some ways. I think Ainge will try to trade a third or fourth pick with players but will have a hard time doing it. As I've said before, we're following Plan B now, which is living with the players we drafted. We're close. A good trade might speed it up a bit, but we're close. Even at #3 or #4, we would add a rotation player who could eventually start. That's not bad.
Ideally, we add one of the two big guys and get the inside defense or the outside offense. Cheers, Gene
