Way of the Ray indeed

How lucky are we to have gotten Clifford Ray?

I mentioned this earlier, but as bad as this season has gone I can point to
about six or seven specific POSITIVE things directly attributable to
Clifford Ray - most of them dealing with either Jefferson or Perk. The
reason I think it is more Clifford Ray then maturation, or playing time or
another aspect is because his history has shown the same improvement at each
location he's been. Just look at Dwight Howard in Orlando for example.

This is yet another reason for a switch at the Head Coach position. Clifford
Ray is one of the biggest fundamentals/do what you do best guy around in the
assistant ranks. He doesn't try to make guys fit a system - he simply
improves their fundamentals which (wait for it) fit into ANY dang system
when executed properly. And that is one of Doc's biggest failings (and of
OB before him and Pitino before him). They all make their round players fit
into square "system" holes. Joe Johnson wasn't a three point shooter -
bye-bye Joe you don't fit the "system". Rondo and Telfair are not shooters
- better start shooting guys or you'll ride the pine (until injuries force
Doc's hand).

Do people think Carlisle is a system guy or a player's strengths are the
system guy? I don't know enough about him to tell.
