big al

Based on the one live game i saw al play this year (last week's philly debacle) the player he most reminded me of was eddy curry. that simple. Whether it was his size or movement without the ball, or offensive moves, or whatever, he very much resembled Curry. That is my observation based on sitting 6 rows from the court for one lackluster nba game.

One should argue small sample size and all of that, which i understand.

But you should be happy about that, I would trade Al for what the Knicks gave up for Curry.

Umm, and it's not outrageous to say al is not going to make an all-star team because others are blocking him. Seriously, who is he going to beat out? The weakest are caron butler (who i agree will not be back next year) and rip hamilton (who may or may not be a guard so may not even matter). Is al jefferson going to make the all-star team over paul pierce? I doubt it, which means caron butler's spot is going to go to pierce. Uh oh, look out dwight howard, al needs your spot (and perception wise, al is not going to beat out dwight howard, just not happening). Look, this discussion is getting tiring as i keep making the same points. You have to see the forest through the trees.

I am not going to bother boring all of you with my al will not make an all-star game position anymore until next year around all-star time because it has been beaten to death. At the midway point of next season you can all prove me wrong, though i doubt it. Let's continue this debate then.

Curry is blounting in a career-high 7 rebounds a game; Al is at 11 a game, despite coming off the bench at the start of the season. He's also a much better shot blocker and at least appears to be trying on defense. And I'll throw in that he's a much more willing passer -- Al is averaging 1.2 assists, with 2 TOs, per game. Curry has never reached the 1.0 level, and is currently at 0.8 assists, 3.5 TOs per game.
