I'm not putting Al in the Hall of Fame alongside McHale -- don't think Al can ever be the unstoppable low post threat, and superb defender, that McHale was.
But Al -- spotting Curry three full NBA seasons -- is currently having a better year than Curry has EVER had (including this one). Curry is blounting in a career-high 7 rebounds a game; Al is at 11 a game, despite coming off the bench at the start of the season. He's also a much better shot blocker and at least appears to be trying on defense. And I'll throw in that he's a much more willing passer -- Al is averaging 1.2 assists, with 2 TOs, per game. Curry has never reached the 1.0 level, and is currently at 0.8 assists, 3.5 TOs per game.
I didn't make you take it back when you outrageously said Al could never make the All-Star team because Rip Hamilton (and others) were blocking him, but I'm going to make you take back the Eddy Curry comment. You can't be a Celtics fan and think Big Al is no better than Eddy Curry. Just can't.
