I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings - in this day and age the next free
agent we get because of "Boston's storied past" will be the first. That
statement, plus a max contract (when no one else can match) or being drafted
(and even with that a player can decline to report/demand a trade), are the
only way this team will attract anyone.
 
Lollipops and sunshine my friend, that's all a "storied past" gets you these
days.
