polls, predictions and prognostications

As some of you may have heard--it might have been missed amidst the 
din of the collective howling of Red Sox fans--the CBW and 
celticsstufflive are joining forces in an historic attempt to bring 
you as many wild guesses--er, educated deductions--as possible over 
exactly how many games the Good Guys will win this season.

This doesn't change anything for 99% of you.  If you signed up for 
one,  you will AUTOMATICALLY be listed in the other. I'll get to the 
1% in a minute.

The format is basically the same as you're familiar 
with.  Predictions and changes are accepted until the opening tipoff 
on game 01 of the regular season.  You can specify a pen name, 
pseudonym, alias, what have you.  If not, then you're stuck with the 
name used on the e-mail (though your e-mail addy will not be used in 
it's entirety).  One person, one vote, please, this is NOT a 
Presidential election.  You do not need to sign up in multiple 
places.  One entry gets you in to both lists.  Lurkers are perfectly 
welcome, and your anonymity WILL be respected.  If your numbers don't 
add up to 82 games, your entry will be made based on the number of wins.

For those of you with high speed connections, you can zip over to 
www.celticsstufflive.com and click on the tab that says "The Poll", 
and enter--you can also view updates there.  They have a really cool 
site, and a small army to run it.

If you don't have a speedy connection, you can sign up by going on 
over to www.celticsbeagle.net and click on the link about the 2006-07 
Predictions List.  For the first time, you can send a prediction 
directly from the CBW.  I have a moderately cool site and my cat will 
occasionally point and laugh as I try to add new content to it, while 
constantly referencing a copy of "Websites for Dummies" on the 
desk.  I bet Kim Malo has squirted her drink up her nose at least 
once when seeing my attempts to use HTML. :)

For those of you who really don't DO websites, (or perhaps your 
employer/teacher/spousal unit prefers you don't surf the fun places), 
you can also send e-mail to FlCeltsFan at Celticsstufflive.com  OR 
predictions at celticsbeagle.net OR through one of the participating 
mail lists.  I will be posting periodic updates to igtc and the stuff 
lists simultaneously.

Now for the 1% who for whatever reason prefer to be only on one list, 
just send your prediction privately to whichever list you like, and 
specify you wish not to be on the other list.  I doubt this will 
happen, but best to give people a reasonable alternative.

If JB, or the rest of the gang has anything to say about their end 
that contradicts this, listen to them.  I barely know what *I'M* 
doing, never mind what everyone ELSE is.
