Sorry for not being clear, Mark and others. I was more wondering aloud why
there wasn't more
optimism about this team -- not Telfair in particular.
i understand that the reservations about Telfair. I'm taking a cheerful
wait-and-see attitude. I meant
about the whole team and our chances.... i'm hoping for good things from this
years club.

My optimism is tempered by the fact that we've put so much faith in
Telfair. Why? What indication do we have that he'll be anything more
than he was in Portland?
I just think we took a strength (point guard -- Delonte) and made it a
question mark. I'd be much more comfortable with Delonte as the starter
and Rondo taking Orien Greene's minutes as the backup. We're immediately
better if that were the case.
Meanwhile, we haven't done anything yet to address the really glaring
weakness -- the frontcourt. We're once again counting on Big Al, and
that's a place I didn't want to be again. When I say that, I mean I
didn't want the whole season hinging on him, not that I've given up on
him. He's just a shaky bet at this point.

its interesting to see the relative lack of optimism. i UNDERSTAND it
,,, i
really do, but maybe i'm just a
glass half-full guy. or deluded :)
