Well, I guess I must be because his first year stats of 6.7/4.4 in 15
minutes don't set me on fire. You like 'em huh? And as for a slump, in his 2nd
year he was 7.9/5.1 in 18 minutes. Looks like a wash to me. Certainly no
improvement which could be considered a slump I guess.
Frankly, I really don't expect much, if anything, out of a HSer. Not for
several years, if at all. I just don't think many GMs are that good as judges
of HS talent, certainly not Danny whose basketball judgement has to be
suspect. (I won't bore you with the list of DDMs <Danny's dumb mistakes> for you
know them as well as I do.)
I'm happy to give Al four years to develop but I'm really tired of all this
talk about "potential". Potential has to be realized and so far IMO it
hasn't been. Danny's drafts have been for role players/backups on a championship
team. I believe that I said some weeks ago that none of DA's draft picks
were worth the mid level at this point in their careers. Perk just proved me
right but I hope (against hope) that Al will prove me wrong. So far tho, I'm
sticking to my guns. Anyway, comparing him to Amare is just silly. In his
first year AS was 13.5/8.8 in 31, second year 20.6/9 in 37. Hellboy 2 huh?
Sh*tboy 2 is more like it.
Harry
think al'll average 30 minutes this year?
