Eggy... can you do you fellow Mainer a favor and explain this section to
moi?

"Between sprained ankles he was regularly beaten up in practice 
by Perkins and Gomes. What seemed to annoy Doc Rivers 
the most, however, was that many of Al's most vocal ankle 
complaints were timed to practices and games in which he 
performed the worst.   Eventually he was removed from the
lineup for the last dozen or so games of the season ... 
ostensibly to rest his ankle, but realistically, to teach him 
a lesson."

If I am reading this correctly, you argue that Jefferson could have come
back following his most recent severe ankle sprain in time to play the final
12 games of the season... roughly 4 to 6 weeks after the injury. 

How close am I?

So if Al was being a bit on the wimpy side, why is it that he seemingly
worked his arse off (folks who saw Jefferson in June said the kid had never
been in better shape) if he still believed he was injured?
