the Mark Blounts of the world are demanding more than the MLE. 
May be the best news of the offseason. I'm positive Perk is going 
to far outplay his salary. > - Steve O

This is a good signing.   Perk, West, and Gomes are the three
young players I consider "keepers."
 
With this new contract, Perk receives around $3.5 mill the first 
season with a $367,500 (10.5%) increase per year, totaling just 
over $16 mill for four years.   He also will receive additional $$$ 
for incentives such as averaging ten rebounds per game, the 
Celts winning the Eastern Division title, etc.

Many posters felt that Perk could not be signed for anything 
less than the midlevel salary cap exception of $5.2 mill. 
So this really is good "cap friendly" news.
