Mr. Powe

This Leon Powe quote from today's Globe jumped out at me:
"I look at it as I've got a different role [than in college]. I can score points. I can be a go-to guy. I know I can do that, but I know that ain't my role. I'm going out there and showing what Danny and Doc see in me, that means making the hustle plays and rebounding. I just try to keep up the energy out there. I think that's what Danny saw when he picked me up."

Leon was a 20/10 guy in college. He can score. Hell, he put up 11 and 16 points the last two games. Can he be a go-to guy for the Celtics? I don't know, but I'll be very happy indeed if he continues to be as productive as he has been for the last two games. Clearly, he is a hard worker. If Danny and Doc want Leon to make hustle plays and rebound, then they must be pleased, because that's what he's been doing. From all reports, he is also humble, and willing to accept whatever role is asked of him. Pairing up Big Al and Powe in the second unit might prove to be a good thing. It certainly was last night, anyway.
