This was the game we had every reason to expect LAST time out against
the Knicks--The Celtics were good, the Knicks stank, and Telfair ate
in his hotel room.

Boston just outplayed the Knicks all over the court, and ran up a 34
point lead before finally emptying the bench, and formally accepting
the surrender.

Since I didn't get to see THIS game, either--for which Time Warner
Cable of Dayton Ohio gets NO cookies--we'll base the evaluations on a
combination of the audio pass and the NBA.com readout.

Cookies go to....

the team defense, which forced--well, encouraged--31 turnovers from
the Knicks. By comparison, the C's had only 16, with only 5 in the
whole first half!

the team offense, capitalizing on the poor play by the Knicks to
shoot 41-84 overall from the field.

Brian Scalabrinie for not playing.

Free throws from Paul Pierce (7-8) and Sebastian Telfair (4-4). I'm
especially tough on free throws, considering it's an uncontested
shot, and I believe anyone in the NBA shooting under 80% deserves to
be hit every time he goes to the hoop--and hit TWICE every time he
misses a free throw.

Balanced scoring, with 6 players in double digits, and 7-10 players
with at least 1 assist.

Crumbs left for...

the three point shot, going 1-8, though in fairness, Delonte usually
shoots threes at a higher percentage.

free throws from Leon Powe and Tony Allen especially. NOT
acceptable, gentlemen!

The Knicks, and their rotten coach. They played so badly tonight,
they should forfeit their win against the C's earlier this week.

Time Warner Cable of Dayton Ohio, which can't get their act
sufficiently together to broadcast the League Pass yet. WAAH!

The next game is Tuesday, October 24, away against the New Jersey
Nets 7:30pm..
