Kim --

good points -- i was going to add the caveat about West staying healthy but
figured we all took that as
a given. I wasn't saying the reason to do a Szczerbiak/Jefferson for
Boozer/Giricek deal was to get
mins for Allen/Green but that it would be at best a pleasant byproduct and at
worst not a major
downside, esp. when compared to the upgrade at the 4.

IMO -- and this was my point w/ the 2nd part too -- the most "expendable"
player in some ways is
Wally b/c of our depth at the 2/3 position with West (when healthy -- though
the same could be said
for W World himself), Allen, Green, Jackson, (maybe) Ray, (proposed) Giricek,
and some guy named
Pierce. I love the things Wally brings -- a quick shoot or pass decision
making, an underrated
willingness to post up and get to the line, the ability to spread the floor --
but I'd swap those for some
more consistent post play. Of course that assumes --- which really will make
an ASS out of U and ME
-- that Doc would know how to use a big man in some way other than the high
post offensive initiator.

I'm still very much on the fence about Jefferson. I think he fell prey to
some unrealisitc expectations (I
know I had 'em) and has been battling injuries. But now he also seems to ahve
to battle Doc's stupidity
in playng him 17 mpg.

And BTW I refuse to call what Doc is playing "small ball" it sounds more like
"midget ball" to me.

Gotta stay healthy though Mark. I like Delonte but I wouldn't want to
make deals based upon relying on his regular availability to pick up
the slack. Also gets us back to even smaller small ball. No question
Delonte's a better defender and a solid rebounder and shot blocker
for his size, so I dunno how much we lose with the smaller size at
that end, but Wally's height and strength does offer some post up
options Delonte can't replace. Saw it last season.

While dealing with the aim of freeing up minutes for people is even
more futile because it requires Doc to make sensible sensible use of
those freed up minutes. Ouija board or one of those Magic 8 balls
deciding the rotations.... nah, either still involves something too
much like sense.
