Allen on a string

I wouldn't have believed it two years ago. Allen's rookie season was a thrill to watch. He didn't overdo his offense, and his defense, hustle, and speed were a giant plus; remember that he started a bunch of games. After the last month of '06, I felt he had added offensive punch to his game and was poised to regain his starting job. My opinion is that a renewed Allen would be our best starting option at the two guard.

Now, with legal questions, with a slow start, with West (albeit oft injured), it would make sense to consult our best interests. For now, since we can't get much for him and since he still could contribute nicely (if, if) I think we will keep him. Ainge is in a real pickle on this one.

Was there some team that wanted Powe and would take a Powe plus Grant deal for a second rounder? That would save a little money. No real hopes for trading the injured Scal right now. Bummer. I think we'll just cut Pitts, Akin, and Powe. Gene
