good point. we should have turned the #7 pick into a
quality big man, but in some ways we did, depending on
what you think of ratliff, who i expect has some gas
left in his tank. 33 ain't that old. i thought robert
horry was done with 5 years ago, too.
the portland trade did get rid of raef's contract, a
huge deal. it brought in telfair, who may or may not
be the answer at pg. but yes, it would have been
better to get a young big out of that pick.

But that's what great drafters do well, make smart
reach picks. And
are you
telling me that there was absolutely no trade
available for a decent
big
man, using the # 7 pick and some of Danny's "great
trading chips"?
Look, we can argue over how good Perk and Al are going
to be - it's
somewhat
fruitless IMO but we can discuss that. IMO, however,
neither one has
proven
to be a solid NBA player and until they do I'm not
going to give Danny
any
credit for drafting them. If they were solid and
Danny could have
picked up
AI without losing either one of them, the Cs would
have become instant
EC
contenders. But that's a BIG "if".
Look guys, I love the Celtics. I just don't think
Ainge is doing a
good
job. Damn, he signed Perk for less than the mid
level. Either Perk's
agent is
a fool or he realized that his client wasn't worth
even the mid level.
How
good does that make him? Back up good? Maybe. He
should be able to
play a
decent 15-20 minutes. That's back up minutes.
Between Perk, Theo and
Al,
the Cs should be able to get 48 minutes at the 5.
How good the
minutes are
remains too be seen.
Harry
but i ain't too optimistic
