Fair enough, Roger. I certainly share you general level of frustration.
I also find it somewhat distasteful to use such a dance squad at an
event that is supposed to be so family-friendly. Do I think it's as bad
as a strip-tease? Of course not. But at the same time, I wouldn't want
to take a kid to a game, and have to explain anything other than how a
pick & roll works.
And I'm sorry if I responded too harshly to your message. My intention
was to stop the progression that had been going on for the previous
several messages. I actually think a great halftime gimic would be to
have local high school coaches come out, and using the jumbotron,
explain various basketball plays simply and quickly. Sort of a fan
tutorial to the finer points, so new fans can appreciate well-run plays.
I admit, the
punchline writes itself. ;-)
