OK, I can't take it anymore ...

I don't mean to come across as anti-Telfair. I think he has potential
and I'm rooting for him. But it seems he's being handed a position that
Delonte manned awfully well last year. Meanwhile, Telfair was losing his
battle with Steve Blake and Jarret Jack out in Portland. What has he
done to earn the job over Delonte?

I'll be shocked if Telfair puts together a season as good as Delonte's a
year ago, and I'd be just as shocked if Delonte didn't improve on that
season if given a chance. Sure, Delonte could be a great third guard. He
could be a great lead guard or a great 2-guard. He's that kind of
player. But with Telfair getting the starting nod, Pierce and Wally
getting big minutes and Tony Allen figuring into the equation, I'm
seeing a lot less of Delonte on the floor. And that's a bad thing. Along
with the fact that he does too many good things (winning things), I'd
say he's a classic example of a guy who needs minutes to make his mark.
You really appreciate Delonte when you watch him over the course of a
game. You lose that if you ask him to come in and produce in a pair of
8-minute stretches.

I'm worrying about this too much right now. I just don't like the way
the wind is blowing.

Mark

plus Telfair may have a better cranium, but we would have to ask the
quack doctor, i mean brain doctor to find out.

If delonte is the better player (and i question his ability to
penetrate/create and play d), i assume he will play his way back into
the line-up. I've always maintained that Delonte will make a terrific
3rd guard, ala vinnie johnson, and i mean that as a compliment.

I'm not so anti-telfair. give the guy a chance and lets see what he can
do.
