Several interesting thought lines in the previous thread...

First, my gut feeling is that Ainge really wants to keep Ray, Pitts, and
Powe. It follows along with his "I'm the best ever at finding second round
'steals'." thought process. So while I find the specialized talents Jones
brings (height, length, active rebounding and shotblocking) more enticing to
a team with specific rebounding deficiencies, I think the "spread the floor"
aspect of Pitt and Ray and the newness of Powe (most recent draftee) dooms
Jones to get cut. I also think Kandi is a goner for the same reason (Yay!).
Where does the last cut come from? I have no idea - the hint dropped
recently (Pitts has trouble defending) may be the wink, wink that he's the
most likely. I personally agree with the poster that mentioned Ray - his
skills are the most redundant.

Second, as much as I hate to say it - Green is a core guy. With Wally's
knees, West's back (and other injury problems) and Allen's legal problems
there are going to be minutes there that are not falling automatically to
Gomes, who I'm still not convinced is a three despite my wildest hopes. Add
in the fact the kid, if nothing else, has proven he can (to steal a hockey
term) put the biscuit in the basket and he's going to get not just limited
run this year, but some quality minutes.

FSN reported last night that my 70-30 prediction was in actuality 100-0;
Ratliff is starting as is I guess Gomes - since they said specifically AJ
and Perk are anchoring a 2d unit with what I assume is Rondo, Green, and
(AAAGH) Scal? Tanguay and Felger had the nerve to say AJ and Perk would
bring "vet stability" to the 2d unit. Morons.
