I agree with Gene-o (HEY! Wait just a minute...are you the dancing Gino from
the jumbotron a couple years ago!!!??? Groovy hair and nice shirt dude) as
far as Allen starting - we need to balance the offense/defense better with
the starters. I'm still not sold on Telfair over West starting at the point
yet as this still looks on paper like a half court team to me. Bassy's got
to prove his "true point guardness" IMHO before we just hand him the keys.
Pierce is the three and we let the preseason determine who starts at the
four between AJ and Gomes. Perk is the center with Ratliff adding
toughness, continuity, and stability. Having both Wally and Ratliff on the
floor with guys like Green and Telfair and even AJ if Gomes starts will
really settle that unit, allow Pierce to actually get some rest, and provide
consistency we never really had with the second team last year.

I would also start Tony at the two; mix his defense with Telfair's offensive
leadership. Let Wally and West spell them as needed. If we're going to be
a speed team, start with speed; Allen's defensive intensity and floor speed
will set the tone. These combos will be Doc's big test, I think, in the
early going. Finally it's here. Gene
