I lean toward D. Jones because he can give us rebounding and hustle defense if we need to give him extended minutes. Scoring won't matter. As far as the others, this guy Akingbala is impressive but raw. Agree on Powe. He's got ability but we have Gomes. How many 6' 7" guys will get pt when Pierce will likely fill the PF slot oftentimes when we go small.
I would start Perk, without hesitation, and let him prove whether or not he can give us 30 minutes. I doubt that his excellent desire has flagged and think that he will keep developing into what we need there. Ratliff can accept the backup role better.
I would also start Tony at the two; mix his defense with Telfair's offensive leadership. Let Wally and West spell them as needed. If we're going to be a speed team, start with speed; Allen's defensive intensity and floor speed will set the tone. These combos will be Doc's big test, I think, in the early going.
