I hate Candied Yams too

Jones is a prayer, at most.  All the heart in the world will not make up
for his physical shortcomings.  I'd doubt he's 6'9", very little jump
and no offensive skills other than the putback layup.  Besides that we
have too many young, promising big men already.  I'd stick with Kandy at
least 1 year more.  He showed some determination at the end of last
year.  It's obvious a lot of positive work was done with him. Granted
it's another prayer, but he could still fulfill some of his potential.
He has the physical goods and the coaches might find the path to his
medulla oblongata.  Why such cravings for Kandi?  He fits a profile
we're short on.  A true center with natural offensive skills.  I don't
expect him to dive for loose balls, run shuttles with Allen, or jump on
the scorer's table after a dunk.  I want 10-15 pts. from the center
position and some blocks.  

So a year from now we fall on our faces.  You package him and we might
get someone more worthwhile.

I hope not - at least in Jones case (who, while NBDL bound, still has
more
potential on heart alone then Olowakandi). Kandi is a waste - has been
since
day one and certainly hasn't gotten better with age. The only upside
would
be (potentially) driving Scalabrine to only backing up the 4 spot
instead of
both the 4 and the 5.
 
And don't both Jones and Pitts have guaranteed contracts? Are we ever
going
to have even a little cap room or are we going to continually spend it
on
bringing in end of the bench filler after end of the bench filler year
after
year?

Olo in camp to me is the biggest deal. I think he's going to push  
both Pitts and Jones off the roster.
