Did I say that? Of course not. What I said was that Ainge (and most GMs)
aren't good enuf to predict how good most high schoolers will be. This turns
the draft into an even bigger crap shoot. I don't know how Bassy'll turn out
but DA has talked about "two years of NBA experience" so maybe he's learning.
You know, it IS possible that he'll improve this year, and develop into a
solid PF, though not a super-star. There's nothing wrong with him
developing into Horace Grant. Of course, that means we still need to find
a Pippen, and I need to see WAY more for Gerald Green before I even come
close to maybe perhaps considering thinking about it.
Hey, I hope Al turns out to be the next KMcH. And Perk into the next Bill
R. And Green into the next MJ or whatever. But you'll excuse me if perhaps I
don't think that's gonna happen. Hell, like you, I'd be happy if they all
turn into decent NBA players because right now it seems that they're all
backups on a good team at best. I've said before that none of 'em are worth the
mid level *right now* and Perk's contract has gone a ways toward proving me
right. Or do you think Al's worth more than Perk. Right now, I sure don't.
But hey, there's always next year! ;-)
Harry
let's just hope it's not like last year
