Oh what the hell, I don't usually do this sort of thing but put me
down for 44 wins. We *should* be better than 50% by the talent (don't
forget that it's not just about us it's also about the opposition and
there are still some baaaad teams out there, including some we'll
play more than once) and improved ball movement, etc with the new PG
but Doc's coaching and the lack of defense that is one of its
offshoots will keep us from being much better. Even if Danny does a
major deal that really improves us (those aren't necessarily equivalents)
BTW, favorite tribute to Red so far is a line from Bulpett today,
"Mostly he had the stones to do what he believed was right and the
brains to understand just what right was" That's talking both on and
off the court. He didn't bat 1000 at it - his hassling of a young
Jackie MacMullen because he didn't think women should cover men's
teams shows he wasn't as gender-blind as he was race blind. But his
batting average was miles better than most and that line to
encapsulates a lot of what made Red Red.
