the problem with rookie points

I agree on Rondo, and as much as Marcus Williams turns me off, I'd
prefer him by leaps and bounds to Rondo. I'm not even sure Rondo is any
better than Orien Greene.
I'm hoping Marcus Williams jumps up to Atlanta or Minnesota, allowing
someone else to drop to the Celts.

Rajon Rondo reminds me of a worse shooting, better passing Kedrick
Brown. Even better yet, he reminds me of Marcus Banks. Go back and
look at the e-mails from when we drafted marcus banks and insert rondo
for banks and I bet they will be very similar. I don't buy this "the
system at kentucky was wrong for him." Guess what, good players
outperform regardless of the system. Can anyone name a college player
who was hindered by his system who outperformed in the pros? I can't
think of one off the top of my head. I know this is a weak draft but
there is no way Rondo is the 7th best player.
As for marcus Williams, other than Joakim Noah, he was the most
impressive player in the tourney. He was the only player on Uconn with
any heart and he hit several clutch shots. I was never really impressed
with him until the tourney, he is leaps and bounds ahead of Rondo in
terms of basketball skills. That said, would I want him at #7? Don't
think so.
I remain firmly in the trade the pick group. No difference makers at #7
and we don't need to get any younger just for the sake of getting
younger. Hopefully we can swap it for a pick next year, though I doubt
anyone will do that.

About Marcus Williams (Uconn): Personally I think the post a while back
saying he's like a poor mans Deron Williams(Jazz), was right.
Like Deron, he's a heady ballhandler/passer, can shoot the longball, is
big compared to Chris Paul, and recently dropped some weight. Doesn't
really play as physical as Deron, or bust his butt on D though. I think
he'll be o.k. in the NBA.
I think Rajon Rondo would be better than Marcus Williams, in making the
C's more of a winner even as a rookie PG, because he'd grow the teams
defensive/tough culture. He really is an even better defender at PG
than Banks, Orien, or Tony. He can drive-n-dish at will in the
halfcourt and has the non-turnover-ballhandling and leadership-swagger
that Orien lacks. (Orien's excellent pass timing and vision seem to
only come out in exhibition playground fastbreak games).

I don't watch college hoops that much so I just don't know, but back
to the points, what does everyone other than Mark Berry think about
Williams? I respect Mark's opinion, just hoping to hear from others
who've seen more of him than I have. I've a friend who has a clue who
sees him as not Chris Paul level but in that mode.
