KG improved after I said that, and maybe JO will improve too.
But I think fans and GMs alike tend to overrate statistics. The
2.5 blocks is enormous, but the rest really aren't that special.
This guy is an all-nba center, and he averaged 7.5 rebounds in
a playoff series? And only 21 points? I'm glad he shot a good
percentage, but really, who cares? If they had won the series,
you could say he was key to their success, or that he gave up
his individual scoring for the good of the team (though not the
rebounding). Or whatever. But they lost. They couldn't even
get by a team whose center committee includes Jason Collins,
Nenad Krystic, and Cliff Robinson (older than me.)
Even if he had good numbers (i.e. 24 points, 12 rebounds) for the series,
Indiana's loss would require some explanation. These pallid stats are in
fact proof that the guy is a pussy, and hardly worth the price of his
salary,
let alone Al.
