June 9, 1985 in Brooklyn, New York) is a professional basketball player in
the National Basketball Association.

Telfair was the 13th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Portland
Trail Blazers out of Abraham Lincoln High School. At 5'11" he is the
shortest high school player to be drafted. On June 28, 2006, the Trail
Blazers traded Telfair along with center Theo Ratliff to the Boston Celtics
for guard Dan Dickau, center Raef LaFrentz and the 7th overall pick in the
2006 NBA draft.

He had been recruited by University of Louisville coach Rick Pitino but
chose to turn professional.

Telfair is the cousin of Stephon Marbury.

On June 28th, the Portland Trailblazers traded Telfair for the #7 overall
pick in the 2006 NBA draft and one/two other players to be named. Boston
fans seemed mixed about his arrival according to latest reports.
