Thanks for the verbal sedative, Thomas. Down here that would cost $150 an hour--cheap by NE standards. I realize there are two different deals out there--one for Telfair and one for Iverson. While one would not necessarily cancel the other, if the Iverson deal came today, it would most likely cancel the deal with Portland. I would rather trade anyone than Jefferson, but I made the argument last week that a choice that made us competitive (at a high level) would generate quicker development of the youth and sustain itself. But, could we wait a few weeks to see how Jefferson is progressing with Clifford Ray? Telfair? I agree he's talented, but I really, really like what I've seen of Foye. Really. Just having a "pure" point guard doesn't make him any more productive than Delonte will be. I've got reservations on both deals.

Alternate idea: buy the Seattle pick (they're selling #10) and take S. Williams at 7, Ronnie Brewer at 10. Or, Foye and Simmons; or Foye and Sene. It evidently could be done. We could even take both Williams' and have a big and a pg.

Or, the Telfair deal is part of the smokescreen to keep McHale from taking Foye, whom we have fallen for. Certainly, the buzz around Foye has increased more than with any of the others, making him the seventh horseman for tonight. Cheers, Gene
