Walker vs. Pierce's future

Whoah. Comparable to the Mavs?

Ownership willing to spend? No check.

Dirk and KVH versus Raef or AJ or Gomes? No check.

Dampier and Diop versus Perk and Jones? No check (and I love Perk).

Josh Howard and Paul Pierce? Check, but not so big as some people might
believe.

Marquis Daniels and Stackhouse versus Wally and Tony Allen? No check.

Jason Terry versus Delonte? No check.

Avery Johnson versus Doc Rivers? No check.

The Celtics are a BAD NBA team. The Mavs have been a playoff team for years
and we are witnessing them making the leap from contender to likely
champion. They have an MVP candidate in Dirk, a collection of former
all-stars as role players (KVH and Stack), young talent that plays like
veterants (Howard and Daniels), and one guy who is earning himself an
enourmous payday (Terry). Their reclamation projects (Dampier and Diop) are
working out while Raef rots in front of us.

If you think we are the Mavs but just missing a coach and a year or so on
the young players til we become title town again, you are going to be
bitterly and I mean bitterly disappointed.

This team has far more in common with the Bucks, the Supersonics, the
Grizzlies etc than the Mavs. Heh, we are closer to the Torontos than the
Mav's of the league.
