I don't think holding on to Pierce is merely an attempt to sell tickets.
The guy isn't near the end of his career, he's got several good years
left. I guess some people think the rebuilding process is going to take
another five years, but I don't see reason to automatically give up on
the next four.. If you give up Pierce for nothing but young talent, then
you're saying you don't think Al, Perk, Gomes, Delonte and Gerald Green
are going to amount to anything. On the other hand, if you think some of
that group will amount to something, then I'd much rather see them
playing with Pierce than with Lamarcus Aldridge and Spanish Chocolate.
