On Vescey, Rando, Sergio, etc.

Mark,

I think you're overvaluing Pierce!

However, I do agree Gordon is not a center piece to any Pierce deal and I
was not implying so. He is however, an amazing guy to bring off the bench
in a sixth or seventh man role because few in the NBA can explode for points
as quickly. He can take the life out of an opposing defense in the right
role.

The advantage of trading Pierce now to a team like Chicago is that you
potentially get two picks in this draft. The first brings you top of the
lottery talent (the second allows you to gamble on a Sene, Rodriguez,
etc...), you don't commit huge dollars to a player that isn't likely to be
as good by the time the team is ready to compete at the highest level yet
his cost will likely prevent a move to the elite competitive level, and you
put yourself in really solid position to draft a star next year.

How much more time is this franchise going to waste? Or is it just about
having a name brand, "star" jersey and cheesy, obnoxiously loud
entertainment to sell tickets.
