Depends if that's all he is in an absolute sense or what he showed
because he could and that's what people wanted to see, while being
fundamentally sound - see Red's comments about the above mentioned
Cousy, who he initially didn't want because he was such a hot dog.
I've no objection to show time, so long as it is fundamenally solid.
It IS supposed to be a game after all, and let's face it, a kiddie
corps are more likely to go along with things sooner if they're fun.

Oh come on Egg. Was caught off guard???? I don't think so, although I
agree he might not be ecstatic about having the seventh pick.
Ignoring tempting puns about off guard and former shooting guards as
GM, no way it was a surprise. It was clear for the last couple of
months that we'd likely be drafting in the lower to mid end of the
lottery. End of the first round was never an option. Especially since
it's been equally clear for even longer that this was a down draft,
without obvious home run picks that people would be falling all over
themselves to get that mid to lower end lottery pick away from you so
you couldn't assume being able to readily trade down. And say what
you will about Danny otherwise, the one thing he has shown he
understands is the draft.
