Two can play at that game ;-) I think at this point nobody has a clue of who Ainge really wants but it's fun speculating nonetheless.
This post was also lifted from the RealGM Boards. One poster's speculation that Spanish point guard Sergio Rodriguez is Ainge's guy:
***********
I'm calling it now, Ainge wants Spanish Chocolate, aka Sergio Rodriguez, and the Spanish Chocolate would hit the spot just right.
So many signs to this, it is fate
1) Trades for the Rights to Spanish PF Albert Miralles, who happens to be on the national team with Sergio Rodriguez. While scouting this guy he probably saw Rodriquez as a standout.
2) Acquires Wally Szczerbiak, whose father happens to be a former star for Real Madrid in the Spanish Basketball League, and is currently in charge of scouting american basketball players for the Spanish League I believe.
3) Ainge goes on a scouting trip to Spain hosted by Mr. Szczerbiak. Wallace and Ainge have both made numerous trips to Europe in the last year. Sergio is from Madrid and plays for Real Madrid's arch rival Estudiantes. Mr. Szczerbiak probably has connections that would help with negotiating a buyout of a spanish player.
4) Sergio Rodriguez's Agent is Arturo Ortega, who also represents Miralles.
5) Ainge has been putting out disinformation like "we need an defensive bigman", that means we need a PG, Ainge learned from the Banks incident.
6) The 1 piece this team doesn't have is a dynamic pg who can make plays happen for his team mates in the half court as well as on the break.
So, after seeing the clips of him from games and reading about him, I think Sergio Rodriguez is the guy.
