big men

The only problem I have with this is you're really underestimating
Phoenix's big guys. They played Marion and Diaw at the 4-5 spots this
season -- two incredibly talented, versatile, unique guys. Last year
they had Stoudemire.
It's true you don't necessarily need the traditional low-post animal,
but you have to have long, talented guys who can defend the position and
provide something on the offensive end. I like Gomes and Perk and have
hopes for Big Al, but none of them are in the same league as Marion,
Diaw or Stoudemire.

i know everyone's restless about us not having enough
big men and having mostly question marks for the ones
we do have, but i do think you can go a long way in
this league without being real big. phoenix showed us
how. in other words, i think we can win alot of games
with gomes at the 4, paired with jeff or perk or
ratliff and with some smaller rebounders on the floor,
like pierce and west and allen. adding one more big
dude who can play big minutes should do it, and i
think we have the people to move to accomplish that
without blowing up the team. wally and a pick should
be able to get us a useful vet, ala pj brown, udonis
haslem or someone like that.
